Pods or the kit?

Hayati Pro Max Plus pods are refills for a device you already have. A pod set brings fresh e-liquid and a new flavour, but no battery, so on its own it will not vape. If you have not bought the device yet, start with the Pro Max Plus kit, which includes it.

After that first purchase, pods are the part you reorder. Each time a flavour runs dry, a new set goes into the same device. You can stay loyal to one flavour or try a different one with every set, and the nicotine strength can change from one set to the next as well.

This is also what makes the switch from disposables simple. Instead of a whole new vape each time, only the pod and its container are replaced, and the charged device carries on.

Hayati makes pods for its other prefilled kits too, such as the Pro Ultra Plus, Rubik and Mini Ultra. These ones are made for the Pro Max Plus.

Two pieces, 11.5ml of e-liquid

A Pro Max Plus pod set has two pieces. The first is a clear 2ml pod, prefilled and ready. The second is a 9.5ml refill container. Added together, one set holds 11.5ml of e-liquid.

The container is where Hayati Fresh Tech comes in. Its liquid is held separately from the pod until insertion releases it, rather than sitting in the pod from the start.

For a vaper, the practical gain is volume: the 9.5ml reserve holds almost five times what the pod does. Because the pod is clear, a glance shows how much e-liquid is left in it. The Pro Max Plus runs on what Hayati describes as an optimised 1.0 ohm coil.

Strengths: 20mg, 10mg, 5mg and 0mg

The pods come in four nicotine strengths, one more than the kit. 5mg is the extra, and it sits between 10mg and nicotine free. 20mg is still the UK upper limit and has the widest flavour choice.

Which strengths you can pick depends on the flavour:

• All four strengths: Banana Ice, Blue Razz Cherry, Blue Razz GB, Blue Sour Raspberry, Blueberry Cherry Cranberry, Blueberry Raspberry, Fizzy Cherry, Fresh Mint, Juicy Peach, Lemon Lime, Mr Blue, Strawberry Watermelon, Summer Dream and Watermelon Ice.
• 20mg, 10mg and 5mg: Blue Razz Lemonade, Cherry Berry, Strawberry Cherry Cranberry, Strawberry Kiwi, Strawberry Raspberry Ice and Triple Mango.
• 20mg only: a longer list, including Black Mamba, Cola Ice, Double Apple, Spearmint, Smooth Tobacco and Vim Ice.

Strength is picked per pod set, not per device. Each set is one flavour at one strength, so a 20mg set and a 0mg set can take turns in the same Pro Max Plus.

Reading the 6,000-puff rating

Hayati's rating for the Pro Max Plus pods is up to 6,000 puffs. Treat it as a guide rather than a promise. A rating is most useful for comparing one line with another, such as these pods against the coming 4000 pods.

Short, light draws make a set go further. Long pulls use the e-liquid faster, so a heavy vaper will reach the end of a set sooner than the rating suggests.

Charging belongs to the device, not the pod, so putting in a new pod set does not change your battery level.

The 6,000-puff pods and the coming 4000 pods

Hayati also makes a smaller Pro Max Plus 4000. Its pods hold 1.5ml with a 5.5ml container, are rated for up to 4,000 puffs and come in 20mg only. Hayati's page for the 4000 calls it the same device as the 6,000-puff Pro Max Plus.

The 4000 pods are still to come. Only the 6,000-puff pods offer 10mg, 5mg and 0mg as well as 20mg. With the device in common, the choice between the two comes down to how much liquid you want per flavour and which strength you vape.

How to fit a new pod

1. Pull the used pod and container out of the device in one piece.
2. Take the new pod and container out of the pack and remove all seals and plugs.
3. Click the pod onto the refill container so they join as one piece.
4. Push it into the device until it clicks into place.
5. Draw on the mouthpiece to vape. The container keeps the pod supplied as you go, so there is nothing to refill by hand.

No vapour? Check that the pack is pushed fully home and that the battery has charge, then take the pack out and fit it again.
